The actor didn’t mention the exact reason for quitting, but it is being said that the 44-year-old actor’s move comes after Facebook faced worldwide criticism over the claims that Cambridge Analytica, the UK data analysis firm hired by Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, harvested and misused data on 50 million members.

Earlier public figures and celebs like Elon Musk (Co-founder of SpaceX) Singer and actress Cher and popular Hollywood actor Jim Carrey also decided to abandon Facebook due to the similar reason.
As the #DeleteFacebook movement gathered steam, prominent people joined the league of celebrities who have quit the social media platform.
On the professional front, Farhan Akhtar is currently finishing the script of Don 3 and might play the character of a cop in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer.
