Padmaavat Row: After Rajasthan and Gujarat, now Haryana government bans SLB’s magnum opus!

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh starrer Padmavat (earlier Padmavati) finally gets a release date. After months of speculations, the film is passed by censor board with a U/A rating and the film will release on January 25.

After Gujarat and Rajasthan, now Haryana government also bans the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus.

Confirming the ban, Haryana Minister Anil Vij said that the movie will not be allowed to be screened in movie halls in the state. He took to Twitter to announce the news.

Other states, including Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, which had indicated that the film will not be allowed to be released in November are yet to announce their final decisions.

Padmavati faces several threats from Rajput Sena. The film was accused to have offensive content against Rajput community.

The film stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles. Ranveer will be seen essaying the role of Alauddin Khilji and Shahid will step into the shoes of Maharawal Ratan Singh. Deepika will be play Padmini – the Rajput queen.
