Aishwarya Rai honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke award for ‘Sarbjit’!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was honoured with the esteemed Dadasaheb Phalke award in Mumbai for her performance in Sarbjit, that released last year.

The actress was all smiles at the event and posed with Hema Malini for the shutterbugs.

Aishwarya looked breathtakingly stunning in an Anju Modi outfit as she appeared at the venue in Mumbai to receive the honour, which is the most prestigious award of Indian cinema.

In the film, Aishwarya essayed the role of Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur who moved heaven and earth to seek global attention towards her brother’s plight in a Pakistani prison.

Although Aishwarya made her comeback to Bollywood with Jazbaa, the movie didn’t quite work for her. She was then seen in Sarbjit and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and was much appreciated in both the films.

On the work front, there are reports that she might be paired with her husband Abhishek Bachchan in Mani Ratnam’s next.

Shilpa’s husband Raj Kundra recently shares a adorable video in which  Viaan has declared that Deepika Padukone is his favourite actress. When Shilpa playfully confronted him, the boy called her his ‘silly mumma’.

During one of the family’s travels Viaan came across a hoarding of Deepika Padukone. Upon seeing Deepika’s ad, Viaan pointed to the hoarding and said she is my favourite actress.

And when Shilpa asks her son about it, he cutely says, “She is my silly mumma!” which leaves Shilpa in splits.

‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ to release in Karnataka, pro-Kannada activists withdraw protest

Here is big sign of relief for Baahubali makers as Pro-Kannada activists on Saturday withdrew protest and call off bandh against movie Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

The withdrawal of protest and bandh came a day after actor Sathyaraj, who plays Kattappa in the “Baahubali” franchise, expressed the deepest regret over comments he made against Kannadigas nine years ago during the Cauvery row and appealed for the smooth release of “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” in Karnataka.

He has not only apologised for the same but also requested the Kannadiga pressure groups to not stall the release of SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus, Baahubali: The Conclusion. He said, “I have got to know that what I had spoken during the Cauvery water crisis has created a lot of tension among the people of Karnataka. I am not against Kannadigas or Karnataka. The biggest example for this is that for the last 35 years my assistant has been Shekar who is a Kannadiga. I would like to apologise for the statement that I had made nine years back and would like to say that I am a small worker in Bahubali film and my comment should not affect the film. I appeal to Tamils to understand.”

For the uninitiated, A group ‘Kannada Okkota’ had released a statement recently that if Sathyaraj does not apologise to the statements made against the Kannadigas, they will announce a bandh on April 28, the release date of Baahubali. The statement read, “The remarks made by Sathyaraj against Kannadigas during the Cauvery row (a few years ago) had crossed limits of decency. We will not allow the film to be released under any circumstances. There is no scope for the release unless and until Sathyaraj tenders an unconditional apology. The exhibitors will have to bear the consequences if they venture to screen the film.”

After pro-Kannada activists’ withdrawal of protest, movie Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is set to release on scheduled date of April 28.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Sidharth will next be seen in “Reloaded” alongside Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez and Suniel Shetty. Produced by Fox Star Studios, Reload is slated to release on 25th August 2017.

Sidharth will also share the screen with Sonakshi Sinha in a remake of the film “Ittefaq”. The film will be a thriller and will be produced by Abhay Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan, and Karan Johar.

He also has “Aiyaary” lined up. The film is a real-life story revolving around the relationship between a mentor and a protege. Sidharth will be playing the role of an army espionage agent.

Recently, there were rumours doing the rounds that TV actor Rajat Tokas who is currently playing the role of ‘Chandra’ in Star Plus show ‘Chandra Nandini is having an extra-marital affair with his co-star Tanu Khan.

According to reports, “Rajat and Tanu are inseparable. In between takes they spend time in each other’s vanity vans and even leave the sets together after pack-up.We also hear that Rajat and Tanu recently enjoyed a night-out together.” Hence, the news came as a major shock for his fans.

Earlier we told you that Star Plus show ‘Suhani Si Ek Ladki’ is going off air in the month of May. However, after this Star Plus show one more TV show is going off air. But what is shocking is that it was launched recently.

As per the reports, Zee TV show ‘Sanyukt’ will go off air very soon.

According to report in Tellychakkar.com, “The above drama, which featured Kiran Kumar and Shubhangi Latkar in the lead roles, will soon shut shops. Sanyukt, portrayed the tale of a middle aged couple fighting to keep their family together. Though rich in content and cast, it could not hold itself strong amidst the potboiler dramas. The team has been duly informed about the development, and as per sources, the shoot will wrap up in few days. It will air its last episode sometime in the first week of May.”

Show will be replaced by TV drama ‘Aisi Deewangi’.

Shraddha and Arjun starrer ‘Half Girlfriend’ to release across 1600 Indian screens

Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor-starrer “Half Girlfriend” will release across 1600 screens in India on May 19.

NH Studioz, an initiative of Narendra Hirawat and Co., has bagged the distribution rights of the movie, directed by Mohit Suri.

“Movies based on adaptations from books by authors like Chetan Bhagat, appeal to the younger generation as we have seen in the past. We have internally seen the content of ‘Half Girlfriend’, and are enthusiastic about the storyline and performance of the actors.”

“For the success of a film, it is important to take the movie to the right audiences. In our last venture for ‘Begum Jaan’, the content was very different and strong. As compared to ‘Half Girlfriend’, ‘Begum Jaan’ needed to be taken to more mature audiences and that is exactly what we did by limiting the number of screens to 956,” Shreyans Hirawat, Managing Director of NH Studioz, said in a statement.

Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, Mohit Suri and Chetan Bhagat, “Half Girlfriend” is a cinematic adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel of the same name. Arjun plays the role of Madhav Jha and Shraddha essays the role of Riya Somani in the film, which is set against the backdrop of three distinct worlds of Delhi, Patna and New York.

Apart from Chetan, the film has been produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, and Mohit Suri. The film will hit the theatres on May 19.
