The Kathua rape and murder case has left the world in a state of shock, grief, disappointment and anger. The case of an 8-year-old minor being kidnapped, sedated and brutally gang raped over days and then eventually murdered has left us seething with anger.
Many celebrities have reacted to it and sharing their displeasure over the same, many shared a photo holding a placard which asked justice for the eight-year-old-girl who was raped in a temple earlier this year.
Following that, Indian actress Payal Rohatgi shared a tweet saying that highlighting the word “Temple” in the placards is idiotic as it’s just the place of crime, same as the empty bus during “Nirbhaya” rape case in Delhi. She posted:
Actresses highlighting #Temple In a #Rape case need to understand that it is a mere LOCATION just like a #EmptyBus which was driving on A stranded road. How idiotic are they all ?? Rape doesnt happen on #Busystreets it happens in #secludedareas.

She further expressed her anger in another tweet and wrote, “Does the #ProtestMarch against #RapeofAsifa which highlights communalism means that if U A #Muslimgirl & U raped in India, U might get justice (DELAYED) but if u a #Hindugirl and U get raped in India, noone will protest 4 U to get justice #idiotic”

After that, she wrote that she is a proud Hindu and not ashamed of her religion. Furthermore, she highlighted the fact that she is no ‘sheep’ and uses her brains when protesting against the horrifying crimes rather than following the trend. Here’s her tweet:
I am a proud #Hindu. I am NOT ashamed to love my religion. I respect other religions but I am proud of my religious beliefs. I don’t belong to any particular industry. I belong to MYSELF & my abilities to better as an Actor/Performer. I am NO sheep. I am Humanbeing with a brain. pic.twitter.com/rAKSOVf0QC

You could be an inspiration to those Bollytards who feel ashamed of their religion. Proud of you @Payal_Rohatgi

Maam it is very refreshing to see someone so honest like you not a hypocrite abusing the very majority community that makes Bollywood so special and successful. I am overwhelmed by your maturity and understanding on such issues compared to the other actresses. Kudos.
