National award-winner actor Rajkummar Rao is simply unstoppable. After his latest release, Newton, being selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars, the actor is ready for some more accolades for his next — playing the role of terrorist Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh in ‘Omerta’.
From losing kilos, to play a man stuck in a highrise in Trapped, to studying the legal system and playing the activist-lawyer in Shahid, Rajkummar Rao always did his bit for a character’s authenticity.
Staying true to his high standards of method acting, the actor has now gone nude for his role in his latest — and by far the boldest move onscreen — Omerta, based on terrorist Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh.

In a sequence Rajkummar has not only shed all clothes and gone completely nude on screen he’s shown making violent love on screen. Says a source, “It was a sequence where the terrorist is shown brutally copulating with a prostitute. Both director Hansal and Rajkummar decided not to fake the sex. Hansal had to look for an actress who was willing to go all the way with his leading man on screen. The result is stunning.”

Rajkummar says, “I’m comfortable with my body and if a scene genuinely demands nudity, I don’t mind. As long as it’s for the scene and not to titillate the audience, I am okay. Be it LSD, Shahid or now Omerta, these are all very powerful scenes in extremely relevant contexts.”

On the work front, Rajkummar will next be seen in Shimla Mirch, Newton, Love Sonia, Vikramaditya Motwane’s untitled next and Hansal Mehta’s next.
