In 2013, Yadav was sent to a judicial custody for 10 days after he tried to hide facts about the case. The Karkardooma court had also ordered the attachment of the assets and a company owned by the couple.

The judge also took contempt against two women lawyers representing the duo along with an oath commissioner for submitting a forged affidavit.

In 2015, Rajpal Yadav declared in the court that Rs 1.58 crore had been paid back. The remaining amount of Rs 3.42 crore would be repaid in 30 days as a new company was ready to take up the responsibility of his loan.
