As devotees bid farewell to Lord Ganesha after the final day of immersion, more than 500 volunteers, including college and school students as well as residents, visited the Juhu beach area with an aim to do their bit and help clean the beach.
A clean up drive was organised today (September 6) at Juhu beach in Mumbai after the immersion of Ganesh Idolslast night.
On Wednesday morning, Randeep joined forces with an NGO run by Afroz Shah to remove some of the garbage and filth left behind by the celebrating crowd on the beach.
In a series of photographs, the Highway actor is seen sporting a saffron coloured turban paired with a black T-shirt and blue jeans while cleaning up the beach.
Randeep thanked Afroz on Twitter for letting him be a part of this initiative and expressed his gratitude for being able to actually do something for his country and the environment.

According to a source close to the actor, Randeep, who lives in Versova area, has been quite active with Afraz. “This seva is his learning from Sikhism that he has been following closely since a year. He was saying seva is something all religions need to adopt,” said the source.
On the acting front, Randeep was last seen on the silver screen in superstar Salman Khan starrer Sultan, where he played Sultan’s coach. He will next be seen in Battle of Saragarhi, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.
Other Bollywood celebrities like Dia Mirza are also taking the initiative of cleaning the beach after Ganpati Visarjan to prevent further water pollution.
