Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh who is known for experimenting with his looks has been sporting a rather impressive beard and moustache for some time now.
The actor who had been sporting a full grown beard for his role as Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming magnum opus, Padmavati, shortened it to look like the younger version of the Delhi Sultanate ruler.
Ranveer went live on Instagram and cut off his curly moustache and his long beard.
The actor also mentioned that Deepika would be the person who would be extremely happy with his decision. “It feels like “chopping off my own body part”, Ranveer said.
Ranveer got emotional while chopping off his beard and said: “We have worked on this for a year. We have nurtured it. But it’s okay, I’m just going for it!”
After he chopped off his beard, Ranveer posted a collage on his social media accounts, where we see the before and after of the ‘mundan’ (shedding hair). He even captioned the image, “Before Mundan – After Mundan.”
He also shared his beard and moustache pics and wrote “I’ll miss you”

This is the first time that Ranveer will be seen playing a negative character and it will also be the first time that the actor won’t be seen romancing Deepika on screen. In the movie, Ranveer as Alauddin Khilji will be seen being obsessed with Deepika who is playing the titular role of Rani Padmavati. The Queen of Mewar is married to Raja Rawal Ratan Singh – King of Chittor (Shahid) and will be seen renouncing Khilji’s maniacal love for her.
