Story of the movie: The film is based on the legend of Rani Padmavati, a legendary Hindu Rajput queen, who is known for her beauty and valour. She was happily married to Rawal Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor), the Rajput ruler of Mewar. A perfect couple living a perfect life until a dark cloud named Alauddin Khilji starts hovering over their life. One day, a priest Raghav Chetan met Alauddin Khilji and told about the beauty of Padmavati and then Khilji decides to lay a siege on the Chitttor Fort in Rajasthan to get Padmavati. With no surprises, the film follows the exact trajectory of the poem and builds up to the large-scale jauhar, self-immolation of the women to protect their dignity, as their men sacrifice their lives on the battle field.

Star Performance: Deepika Padukone as Padmavati gave a brilliant performance. After seeing her, it can be said that no one can could do better in the film. Shahid Kapoor has done complete justice with the role of Maharajal Ratan Sen. While, Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji has also performed brilliantly.

Music Direction: As always expected, Bhansali’s movie Padmaavat music is also awesome. Bhansali has teamed up with Sanchit Balhara to create a background score, in which the Rajasthani melodies are also heard. Ghoomar song has already became hit among the audience. Rest of the songs are also good.

Direction: Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s hard work is clearly visible in the film. Bhansali’s magic is clearly seen in every frame. From a war sequence to jauhar, every scene of the film is shown beautifully. The scenes are shot and edited (for most part) with such finesse that despite not having a surprise ending, the film makes for a gorgeous cinematic experience.

Watch Or Not: You must watch this movie. Along with the beauty of Rani Padmavati, you will find the courage of Rajputs. This movie can’t be missed.
