From the past few days, there have been news doing the rounds that Deepika Padukone will play cricket legend Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Dev in 83.
Well now, Ranveer Singh confirms the news on social media by sharing a series of pictures and a video and introduces Deepika Padukone as his on-screen wife.
Ranveer welcomed Deepika on board with a drum roll. Sharing an adorable picture with wifey Deepika and director Kabir, Ranveer captioned it as, “*drum roll* All smiles as All-star @deepikapadukone joins the #83squad !!!”

In fact, the actor posted a hilarious boomerang in which Deepika is hitting Ranveer with a bat. Both of them look adorable in the video. He captioned it as, “Story of my life, Real and Reel.”
This is the first time after her marriage that Deepika will be seen with husband Ranveer on the big screen.
Talking about collaborating with husband Ranveer in 83, Deepika Padukone earlier told Times of India, “The personal equation doesn’t spill over into the workspace. I can’t think of anyone else who could do justice to the role of Kapil Dev, but if there was someone else playing him in the film, and not Ranveer, I would still do my part. This isn’t coming from a personal equation, but from my passion and enthusiasm for the film.”

The sports drama is based on India’s historic win against West Indies at the 1983 world cup and Ranveer will be seen playing former Indian skipper Kapil Dev.
The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Saqib Saleem and Chirag Patil.
Directed by Kabir Khan, the film will go on floors on April 10, 2020.
