While it’s been a season of biopics with mainstream A-list actors all jumping into the bandwagon. After Priyanka Chopra, Sushant Singh Rajput and Farhan Akhtar did it, Akshay Kumar is all set to do one. As per the latest rumours doing the rounds, Harshvardhan Kapoor will soon be seen in one.
Harshvardhan, who’ll next be seen in Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘Bhavesh Joshi,’ might be soon seen playing Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra on the big-screen. While Harshvardhan will play the ace shooter, his real-life father Anil has been reportedly offered the role of Abhinav’s father AS Bindra.
The source adds that AS was the backbone behind Abhinav’s victory. “After Abhinav returned from the Sydney Olympics, his father invested in a farmhouse where Abhinav could stay and shoot. He always arranged the best for his son. For over 20 years, he has helped his son pursue his dream. Anil loved the script and has given the nod,” quoted a source as saying.

This will mark the first time that Anil will share the screen space with either of his children. Anil has worked with Rhea Kapoor in the capacity of co-producers in Neeraj Vora’s 2009 comedy ‘Shortkut: The Con Is On’, Rajshree Ojha’s ‘Aisha’ and two seasons of the television thriller series ‘24′.
He has also shared the screen space with Sonam Kapoor but only the small screen. They have worked together on a garment commercial. But the Abhinav Bindra biopic will be the first time he works with Harshvardhan, in any capacity.
Anil Kapoor is currently shooting in London for Anees Bazmee’s comedy ‘Mubarakan’ in which he plays uncle to real life nephew Arjun Kapoor and the makers we hear are planning to kick start the shooting of the film in summer this year.
