Remember little girl Ayesha Kapur from ‘Black’? She is grown up like a diva now!

Remember that little girl in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Black’ who impressed the audience and critics alike with her impeccable performance? She was 12 when she won a Filmfare Award for the Best Supporting Actress!

Ayesha played Michelle McNally so effortlessly in ‘Black’ is all grown up now and the free bird is enjoying her life to the fullest. In case you’re wondering what she looks like now, here are some of her latest pictures which will definitely surprise you.

The daughter of Dilip Kapur (Hidesign’s owner) has every bit of luxury at her feet. But the lady maintains distance from the usual. We see less parties and more casual scenes, less makeup and more natural beauty.

The actor became an instant favourite for how impeccably she played the role of a visually and aurally impaired girl who overcomes these challenges courageously. Now 22 and a Liberal Arts student at Columbia University, New York.

Ayesha took a break from films to focus on education, but is open to acting offers since she has a “flexible schedule”; and hopefully we’ll see her on screen soon.

For her first movie Black Kapur became the recipient of many Awards in the “Best Supporting Actress” category. In doing so, she became the second youngest (behind Darsheel Safary) person to be both nominated and win a Filmfare Award and is currently the youngest person ever to win a Zee Cine Award and an IIFA Award.

Kapur lives in Auroville, Puducherry. Her mother, Jacqueline, is German and her father is Indian businessman Dilip Kapur, owner of the Hidesign chain of leather goods stores. She has one brother, Milan, and two half-brothers from her father’s first marriage, Akash and Vikas. Dilip and Jacqueline parted ways last year after she found out that he was dating a much younger woman. Dilip however refused any such allegations.

After Black, Ayesha starred in Sikandar (2009) as a child actor, and was later to do Shekhar Kapur’s ‘Paani’ with Sushant Singh Rajput, but the project never took off. “After boarding school, I wanted to re-discover my passion for acting and therefore spent some time training and auditioning in Mumbai. I signed a three-film contract with Yash Raj Films but after it looked like Paani was put on hold, I decided to re-apply to college”.

Ayesha loves shopping for accessories very much, that she decided to make it her business and launched her own label “Ayesha Accessories”.
