Tulip who was born on 11 September 1979, in Mumbai, Maharashtra has made her bollywood debut from the film Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai in 2002. The film was a hit, but after this none of her film were successful.

Of course, she went on to feature in quite a few films, which also included some Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Punjabi movies till 2015, but none of them are remembered by the masses.

She finally realised that acting is not her cup of tea, and left the world of show business two years back with Salman Khan’s Jai Ho in which she had a cameo, as her last film in her filmography so far.

While working in films, Tulip fell in love with Captain Vinod Nayar. They both were in live-in-relationship since long. Later, they got married. But, their is not much information is available about their marriage.

Vinod, served in the Indian Army from 1989 to 1995. He was in the 19th Battalion of the Punjab Regiment. After this he left the army and returned to Mumbai.

Tulip has made her film debut not by dreaming it but by chance. She was a friend of the bride of Aditya Chopra, the son of director Yash Chopra. The family noticed her at their wedding and asked her to appear for an audition, following which they cast her in Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai. The film was quite a success. Despite the good reviews and success, Tulip was heavily panned for her acting.

After a two-year hiatus, she reappeared in Matrubhoomi – a dark film about a futuristic world with almost no women. Her performance in it was praised and established her credibility as an actress.

Her next Hindi movie was Dil Maange More and Shoonya. But the films went flopped at the box office.

When Tulip did not get success in Bollywood, she moved to South’s films. In 2007, she worked in a Malayalam film Mission 90 Days. After this, she worked in Telugu film Konchem Koththaga and Kannada film Super.
