Television actress Amita Udgata who is known for playing the role of Dadi Bua in Sony TV’s popular show ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi’ has passes away last night due to lung failure.

According to reports, Amita was not well and was admitted to CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai for the last four days. In fact, the senior actress was kept life support.

Amita Udgata is survived by two children, Ruchin Udgata and Rishab Udgata. Reportedly, her last rites ceremony will take place on Thursday as the family is waiting for Amita’s elder son’s arrival.

Amita is known for her role of Amma in Star Plus’ social drama ‘Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya’. She was also seen in shows like ‘Maharana Pratap’, ‘Baba Aiso Varr Dhundo’, ‘Doli Armaanon Ki’ among others.

She also featured in movies like Parineeti Chopra-starrer Hasee Toh Phase and Aishwarya Rai’s Sarabjit.

Actress Abha Parmar, who is a close friend to Amita Udgata spoke about her sad demise to India Today. She said, “We were more like sisters than friends. I am from Kanpur and she was from Lucknow. I wasn’t aware that her condition so serious. I was supposed to visit her today. She was a great actress and a friend and we have faced life’s struggles together.”
