Till now, several other prominent personalities from the industry including Rohit Roy, Subhash Ghai, Alok Nath, Kailash Kher, Vikas Bahl, Chetan Bhagat, Rajat Kapoor have been accused of sexual harassment.

Well now, another one who joined the list is Namaste England director Vipul Shah. Yes, Sacred Games actress Elnaaz Norouzi accused the director of sexual misconduct.

In an interview to Mid-Day, she said that she had been meeting Vipul several times for the film. She said that she had started meeting him, when the film was in the pre-production stage.

According to the actress’ account, the filmmaker got close to her when they met up to sign her for the second lead of the film, even giving her a peck on the cheek. When she auditioned for the role, she said that he made her feel like “the planet’s worst actress”.

She further added, “He wanted me to get familiar with Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. So he told me that he would make sure that I get to Punjab.” However, during another round of auditions, he tried to touch and kiss her again, she pushed him away and left the country, citing health reasons.

When she returned to the country and got in touch with Vipul, he called her to Patiala on the pretext that he had arranged workshops for her there. A crew member working on the film confirmed to the newspaper that Elnaaz had indeed been present in Patiala and was being considered for the role. However, once there, when she asked for the script, Vipul avoided her, even saying, “Come to my room, I will make you hear the script.”

However, there were no further developments on that. And when Elnaaz landed a role in Sacred Games and told Vipul about the same, he was not enthusiastic about it. “He kept asking me to skip the offer. He still had not signed a contract with me for Namaste England. I was mentally tortured for three months. It was evident that if I slept with him, I would get the part. Every time I went to his office, he tried (to hit) on me. He (would) inappropriately touch me, and (try to) kiss me,” Elnaaz revealed.

On why she’s speaking about it now, she said, “The only reason I am sharing this is because I want these kinds of disgusting people to stop misusing their power.”
