Saif Ali Khan looks from Kaalakaaandi

This is definitely not the first time Saif has experimented with his look. It can be recalled that Saif sported blonde hair, fake dialect for his film “Go Goa Gone” in 2013. But, his look in “Kaalakaandi” is more intriguing than what he looked in “Go Goa Gone”.

Directed by debutant Akshat Verma, writer of the dark comedy film “Delhi Belly”, “Kaalakandi” is the story of six characters from different worlds – urban, ambitious Mumbai and its dark, neglected underbelly. It’s a raucous, dark-comedy tale about life, death, karma, that barrels through one monsoon night in Mumbai.

Co-produced by India and UK-based Cinestaan Film Company and Flying Unicorn Entertainment, “Kaalakaandi” has a ensemble cast led by Saif Ali Khan. The film features Kunal Roy Kapur, Vijay Raaz, Amyra Dastur, Deepak Dobriyal, Sobhita Dhulipala, Akshay Oberoi, Isha Talwar, Shenaz Treasury, Shivam Patil and Neil Bhoopalam in pivotal roles.

In an interview with Mirror, Saif said, “Kalakaandi with its slightly Maharashtrian twang, talks about the many kaands that go on here, the mix-ups and the snafus. We’re currently working on the music and after seeing the film, one of the coolest I’ve done, I’ve started loving the city even more. It’s the city of hope, of dreams and opportunities for young people struggling to make a name, place, and life for themselves alongside the rich and the famous.”

“Kaalakaandi” is set to hit theatres on September 8 this year.
