Earlier today, there were news doing the rounds that veteran actor Dilip Kumar suffer Lung infection (Aspiration Pneumonia) again. But now, wife Saira denies pneumonia rumours and says the legendary actor is suffering from regular fever.

In a statement to Zee News, Saira Banu said that “He is fine and is at home. Someone has started this rumour that he is having pneumonia, but there is no such thing. He is just having a regular cold and fever. He is at home and recovering.”

Dilip Kumar was admitted to hospital earlier this month. He was reportedly diagnosed with a lung infection called aspiration pneumonia.

His friend Faisal Farooqui who handles Kumar’s Twitter handle has tweeted to inform his fans about his illness. He wrote, “Want to inform you @TheDilipKumar has been admitted to hospital last night. He’s being treated for recurrent pneumonia. Will keep you updated”.

Known as tragedy king, Kumar has acted in more than 65 films over six decades and is known for his iconic roles in movies such as Devdas (1955), Naya Daur (1957), Mughal-e-Azam (1960), Ganga Jamuna (1961), Kranti (1981), and Karma (1986).

Dilip Kumar was last seen in the film ‘Qila’ in 1998. He was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 and Padma Vibhushan in 2015.
