Popular show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ made a comeback on TV after many years. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar made a debut on TV with this show as ‘Super judge’.
The mentors that have been roped in for the show are comedians Zakir Khan and Mallika Dua and writer Hussain Dalal.
But, the show failed to grabbed the TRP. Now looking into this, makers have decided a big change in the show. They have decided to replace the mentors of the show.
According to reports of TOI “In a bid to spruce up the show, the makers have decided to bring in Shreyas Talpade and Sajid Khan in place of mentors Zakir Khan, Mallika Dua and Hussain Dalal from October 28. Shreyas and Sajid will judge the show along with Akshay.”

“It was pre-decided that the format would change after choosing the top 12 participants. There may also be a new host in place of Elli AvrRam, who was roped in only for the first leg of the show.” source added.
Commenting on the developments, Producer Ashvini Yardi in an official statement said, “After the several auditions we held across the country, we are now at a critical stage of the show wherein the real competition begins. We would like to thank our mentors Zakir Khan, Mallika Dua and Hussain Dalal for selecting and giving us our final contestants. To take the competition from here onwards we now move from our mentors to our judges Sajid Khan and Shreyas Talpade and our very own super judge Akshay Kumar.”
The Great Indian Laughter Challenge has earlier given the industry comedians like Sunil Pal, Ahsaan Qureshi, Raju Srivastava, Kapil Sharma, Bharti Singh and Sudesh Lahri among others.
The show airs every weekend on Star Plus at 8 pm.
