Revealing more about the song ‘Radio’, Salman said, “The song is called ‘Radio’ because the good news that my brother is alive and is coming back is announced on the radio.”
To this, Kabir Khan added, “It’s a celebratory song at the end of a war. It’s set in 1962 when the radio was essentially the only medium through which news could be obtained. Everything from entertainment to news came through radio. But it was a big song. Remo had done a very nice number ‘Selfie le le’ in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. We needed same kind of scale and energy and fun. So Remo designed it over 300 acres and we had 700-800 dancers and 1000 extras.”
The pairing of Salman Khan and Kabir Khan was asked about how they form their working partnership, to which the director replied, “We had lots of issues on ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and we used to debate and discuss as we come from different sensibilities. I sometimes go too real and Salman pulls me towards mainstream. Sometimes I try and insert more logic into the scenes.”
