Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor, who is reprising Sanjay Dutt in his biopic, looks heavier than usual these days. He says he has never before put on so much weight.
“It has been an inspiring journey for me to be playing Sanjay Dutt for the silver screen. I have never put on so much weight before and now plan to reduce some weight for the next phase of shooting,” said Ranbir.
The yet untitled film, being directed by Rajkumar Hirani, would portray seven different phases of Sanjay Dutt’s life, starting from when he was all of 22. “It’s amazing to be working with a director like Rajkumar Hirani,” said Ranbir.

According to the reports, Ranbir will be sporting six different looks in biopic that will highlight different phases in Sanjay Dutt’s life.
A source close to the film’s production told, Ranbir started with the long hair and beefed up look, which will continue for a while. After a break of two months, he will have to lose all the bulk weight and become lean. It’s the phase which represents Sanjay’s look from his debut film Rocky. Not just that, he will be donning six different looks throughout the film from Rocky to Khalnayak to Munnabhai MBBS, and the one when he was in prison.”
On Monday, Ranbir Kapoor was in Noida at the launch of India’s first HP Virtual Reality (VR) lounge at PVR ECX, Mall of India.
Responding to question from IANS on how emerging technologies like virtual reality may impact movie-going experience, the “Jagga Jasoos” actor said that although he fears increased use of gadgets might take audiences away from cinemas, movies with good content would continue to do well at theatres.
