When Sanjay Dutt wanted to beat up Rishi Kapoor!

Ranbir Kapoor is all set to play the title role in a biopic based on Sanjay Dutt, but did you know that Sanju almost came to blows with Ranbir’s father Rishi Kapoor? In fact Rishi has opened up about this in his recently released autobiography, Khullam Khulla: Rishi Kapoor Uncensored.

Gulshan Grover, who was also a part of it, told DNA that Sanjay almost beat up Rishi over a suspected affair. The bad man of Bollywood revealed, “It’s true, Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) was having an affair with Tina Munim (Ambani) at that time and thought that Chintu (who was unmarried then) was having one with her, too. Sanjay and I were like brothers so one day he told me, ‘We have to go to Chintu’s house to beat him up. We went to do that but his fiance Neetuji managed to convince us that Chintu was not having an affair so we left.”

Talking about his relationship with the two actors now, Gulshan told DNA in an interview, “Though we are in touch, it’s not the same anymore. I adore Chintu and keep meeting him. But with Sanju, the problem is I would keep giving him correct advice and he does not like that so he creates situations where he can avoid those very people who give him good advice (laughs).”

“The irony of it is that today Chintu’s son Ranbir is playing the very Sanjay Dutt, who had wanted to beat up his father one day, and Sanju loves Ranbir too!” Gulshan added.

Interestingly, Rishi Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt’s last film together was Hrithik Roshan-starrer Agneepath (2012), where they played rivals.

Now, let’s see if Ranbir Kapoor will do justice to the character of the person who once wanted to beat his father.
