Shah Rukh Khan pays Ranbir Kapoor Rs. 5000 for suggesting ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ title!

Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movie Jab Harry Met Sejal didn’t have a title for the longest. While there were speculations that the movie was titled The Ring first followed by Rehnuma, it was later clarified that they were only the working titles.

Interestingly, later there were reports that Imtiaz Ali, the director and SRK had asked all their friends and crew members to contribute the titles they have in mind for the movie. The person’s whose title would be selected as the final one, would win Rs. 5000 from Khan!
Many of them contributed with their suggestions including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar among others. Interestingly Ranbir’s suggested title has been finalised for the film.
On Twitter, Shah Rukh had quipped about the title, “Just in case Ranbir Kapoor ever claims it… The title ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ was never ever suggested by him! So he doesn’t win the Rs 5,000 reward.”

Later, during the song launch of Galti Se Mistake when Ranbir was asked about it, he said, “I suggested the title ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ to Shah Rukh Sir and Imtiaz Ali. But the sad part is that I had no idea about the reward, so Shah Rukh Sir, I am coming to Mannat (SRK’s residence), keep the Rs 5000 ready in cash!
Shah Rukh Khan has finally paid Ranbir Kapoor Rs 5000 for suggesting the title of his new movie.

The 51-year-old actor took to Twitter to share a picture with Ranbir, in which he is seen handing over cash to Ranbir, a reward fixed by the film’s team for coming up with the title.

SRK also asked Ranbir to pay filmmaker Karan Johar his share as he suggested the “Jab” part of the title.

“Jagga Jasoos we are quits now!!! Hisaab barabar (It’s even now). Give @karanjohar his share for the ‘Jab’ part in JHMS please,” Shah Rukh tweeted.

 

Karan replied, “Yes am waiting !! Ranbir owes me 1,250 rupees!”

Helmed by Imtiaz Ali, ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal‘ traces the love story of a Punjabi guy played by SRK and a Gujarati girl essayed by Anushka Sharma. The film is slated for 4 August 2017 release.
