After sharing various posters, now the makers of Shahid Kapoor and Sharddha Kapoor starrer ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ has released the trailer of the film.
The trailer shows a story of a small town in Uttarakhand which faces the problems of power cut. In this town live three friends played by Shahid, Shraddha and Divyendu Sharma. All seems to be hunky dory until one day Divyendu decides to open a factory. But when the electricity board slaps a bill of several lakhs on him, he is unable to pay off the crippling debt and hence takes his own life. This comes as a hard shock to Shahid who takes it on himself to avenge his friend’s death and injustice in the court of law.
Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a social drama that talks about electricity shortage in smaller towns. The film also features Yami Gautam, who will be seen portraying the role of a lawyer in the film. The film has extensively been shot in Uttarakhand.

This film marks the second collaboration between Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor after Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film is slated to release on September 21.
