Showing Ram & Sakshi’s love making scene in ‘Bade Acche Lagte Hain’ was my biggest mistake: Ekta Kapoor

The indisputable queen of Indian daily soaps Ekta Kapoor, who kept all the saas and bahus of India occupied with her various drama series recently launched her new show ‘Kundli Bhagya’ on Wednesday.

 She launched the show in Delhi with the cast — Dheeraj Dhoopar, Shraddha Arya, Anjum Fakih and Manit Joura.

At the press conference of ‘Kundali Bhagya’ when Ekta was asked about the bold content on small screen. To which she replied, “I think, showcasing the intimate scene between Ram and Sakshi was one of the biggest mistake of my career. I mean, the show which was having the TRP of above 6 point was suddenly dropped to 2 point. That was really shocking. But at the same time, the digital platform received 10 lakhs views on the same day. So, I have understood that the small screen audience are very different as compared to the digital ones.”

“On TV we have to make conservative and more palatable content. Because sometimes we get embarrassed when we are watching certain kind of content with our parents. I once went to watch a movie with my father it was called City Of Angels. We went because of its title but suddenly Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan were making out both me and my father were embarrassed. We didn’t know where to look, so he asked me popcorn khayegi and he ran. That doesn’t mean sex is bad. We will prefer watching it when we are alone and not with the entire family.” she added.

Ekta’s show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ started three years ago and still remains top in the TRP. Sriti Jha and Shabbir Ahluwalia are playing lead role in the show. And now, after the success of Kumkum Bhagya, Ekta Kapoor is all set to bring forth the spin-off of this hit show, titled Kundali Bhagya. 

The show ‘Kundali Bhagya‘ will replace “Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani”, which is all set to go off air on July 4.
