There were reports that former CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani made cuts in Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez’ upcoming movie ‘A Gentleman’. The scene that was omitted from the movie was their kissing scene.
But, Sidharth has quashed all the rumours regarding the cut and said that the kissing scene has not been cut. At the song launch event of Bandook Meri Laila, Sid cleared the air about the specified scenes being cut from the film. He said, “Kissing scene is there. It has not been cut.”
Later in the day, the filmmakers also circulated a statement rubbishing reports that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has raised objection over a scene in the film. “First of all I am very surprised how that report came about. Who is this person who saw that scene? I don’t know what is the big deal about this kissing scene! It is not cut from the film, so half or most of that report is not right. It (the kissing scene) is there, so when you watch the film on Friday, you’ll see it,” directors of the film Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK told reporters.

Earlier, DNA quoted a source close to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) as saying that the kissing sequence was considered unnecessarily lengthy – just like the ones in the last James Bond movie SPECTRE and Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. We’ve asked them to take it easy. The film is titled ‘A Gentleman’, but the hero seems to forget his manners while kissing,” a source had told.
The movie is about Gaurav (Sidharth) who is on a mission to settle down. He is in the process of charming Kavya (Jacqueline) into marrying him; except that Kavya is dreading the thought that he is going to pop the question because she is in no hurry at all and wants more excitement in life.
She so wishes that this sundar susheel gentleman gets a bit riskier. When an assignment takes Gaurav to Mumbai, shit hits the fan. A case of mistaken identity brings a bunch of dangerous operatives into his life.
This is the second time we will see Sidharth and Jacqueline after ‘Brothers’.
Helmed by Krishna D.K. and Raj Nidimoru, ‘A Gentleman’ is slated to release on August 25.
