Following the blockbuster success of “Thuppakki” and “Kaththi”, Ilayathalapathy Vijay is joining hands with filmmaker AR Murugadoss for a Tamil film.
The buzz is that Sonakshi Sinha will play the female lead in it. “Vijay62 is” directed by AR Murugadoss, with whom Sonakshi has worked earlier in “Holiday” and “Akira”.
However, sources close to the Bollywood star have stated that it’s still early to comment on the film. In fact, the script for the film is yet to be ready and the ace director hasn’t begun work on the project.
“It’s true that Murugadoss and Vijay are coming together for the third time. The project, in all probability, will go on the floors towards the end of this year. Talks have been initiated with a few Bollywood heroines including Sonakshi Sinha,” a source privy to the development told IANS.

Sonakshi seems to be a shoo-in for the film as she already has a connection with Murugadoss and the Tamil film industry. She was previously cast in “Lingaa” opposite superstar Rajinikanth.
Reportedly, the daughter of Bollywood hero-turned-politician has said, “I’m ready to star in Murugadoss sir’s next film as I have already worked with him in a couple of films. I have watched Vijay’s Thuppakki and Kaththi and feel he is a good actor. I won’t let an opportunity to pair opposite him get away.”
The film will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions, the company which produced Murugadoss’s earlier film Kaththi with Vijay.
Murugadoss is currently busy with his film with Mahesh Babu, which is said to be the 2.0 version of his 2012 blockbuster “Thuppakki”.
Vijay, meanwhile, is shooting for his untitled big-ticket film with Atlee, which is their second collaboration after 2016 blockbuster, Theri. The director has assembled a huge star cast and leading technicians for the film.
