Sridevi died due to accidental drowning in bathtub, says forensic report!

We still can’t get over the fact that Sridevi is no more. The renowned actress passes away on Saturday night following a cardiac arrest at a Dubai hotel. She was 54.

The actress untimely death has shocked the entire nation. In the latest development, Dubai police has released the forensic report of Sridevi to the Kapoor family and the Indian Consulate representative, according to a Gulf News report. The forensic reports are sealed and haven’t been opened yet.

We have a copy of the report and shall update the readers soon.  The death certificate mentions the cause of death as accidental drowning.

The actress drowned in bathtub after suffering cardiac arrest, the reports said. Traces of alcohol were found in her blood, Khaleeh Times further reported, citing the post-mortem report.

The actress suffered a cardiac arrest following which she fell unconscious inside the bathroom Dubai’s Jumeirah Emirates Tower Hotel. She was immediately taken to Rashid Hospital where she was declared dead.

According to reports, the actress was readying for a dinner date with husband Boney Kapoor when she suffered a massive cardiac arrest.

Boney Kapoor, who had left Dubai for Mumbai, returned on Saturday evening to surprise his wife. He reportedly woke Sridevi up around 5.30 pm and the couple chatted for around 15 minutes, the report says. Then Boney Kapoor asked her to dinner.

To get ready, the actress went to the washroom. When she did not return for 15 minutes, Kapoor knocked on the door. On not getting any response, he had to force open the door to discover Sridevi lying motionless in the bathtub filled with water. He tried to revive her and when he could not, he called a friend of his. After that, he informed the police at 9pm.

Police and doctors arrived and took her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
