Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor have come together for an interesting venture, Stree, a horror comedy. The trailer of the film has garnered a lot of appreciation from the audience. Recently, the makers has released the new teaser of the film and it is hilarious.
The teaser shows Vicky (Rajkummar Rao), who owns a tailoring shop is seen receiving orders from the men of his town but instead of shirts or pants, they want to wear lehengas, palazzo and anarkalis. Because, the men here want to dress up like women to protect themselves from ‘stree’.
Stree is based on the urban legend of Nale Ba from 1990’s Karnataka. The myth says that a witch would come knocking at people’s doors at night. The witch would deceive people by taking out the voices of their kin and enter the house. Whoever opens the door is believed to die. To cope with this, the residents of the area would write ‘Nale Ba’ (means ‘come tomorrow’ in Kannada) outside their doors and walls of their houses which would make the witch go away and the cycle would repeat.
