After having much speculations doing the rounds, superstar Rajinikanth finally confirmed his entry into politics. The actress addressed his fans at the Raghavendra marriage hall in Chennai.
“It’s certain that I will enter politics. That is destiny. I will start my own political party and contest in all 234 constituencies in the next TN Assembly elections,” said the superstar. Rajinikanth also mentioned that in the eventful year that has been for Tamil Nadu.
“I will be the leader and my soldiers will fight in the upcoming Assembly elections. All my fan clubs will be amalgamated under one umbrella and will use them in this fight to clean the system,” said Rajinikanth.

The actor said he is not entering politics for money, “Some people after joining politics start looting the people. They don’t loot other countries or people, rather their own. I will make sure what is due to the people, will reach them. We need watchmen who will police and ask questions from those do wrong,” said Rajinikanth.
Rajinikanth also stated that he isn’t doing it out of thirst for power, but for the welfare of the people. “I didn’t have the thirst for power at the age of 45 (in 1996). At the age of 65, why would I have such a thirst.”
The news was well received by his fans, who began celebrations soon after the announcement was made.
The Thalaiva also went on to pose for photographs with his fans at the venue.
