Yesterday, the makers of ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ shares the first look of Anupam Kher’s first look from the film.

And now, according to latest reports, German actress Suzanne Bernert will portray former Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the upcoming film.

The actress is seen bearing an uncanny resemblance to the former Congress chief.

The actress has, earlier, portrayed the former Congress President in a television series titled ‘Pradhanmantri’. The 35-year-old speaks Bengali, Marathi and Hindi fluently and is an expert Lavani dancer.

Suzanne was the first foreign actor who took on the role of a negative character or vamp for the historical show ‘Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat’, on Indian television.

Last month, she announced about being a part of ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ with this tweet:

Directed by newcomer Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, The Accidental Prime Minister will be an onscreen adaptation of Sanjay Baru’s book of the same name, who served as the media adviser to the former Prime Minister.

The film will star Anupam Kher as former PM Manmohan Sing, Akshaye Khanna as political commentator Sanjay Baru. While, the role of Priyanka Gandhi will be played by Aahana Kumra of the ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ fame.

The film is expected to release on December 21.
