Siddhartha Anand, who directed the 2014 Indian action comedy Bang Bang, is on board to helm this movie. Bollywood’s martial arts expert Tiger Shroff plays the iconic action character in the forthcoming remake.

The poster shows a rugged and surprisingly tough-looking Tiger in the backdrop of a hi-tech warzone. Tiger shared the poster and wrote “‪Grew up on this character, humbled and blessed to step into his shoes years later. #RamboRemake. #greatestactionheroofalltime #legend #irreplacable‬ #rambo.”

Tiger who has already earned a name for his action and martial arts in Bollywood films said that he will not let down Sylvester.

The talented actor also quoted to a daily about the film. He said, “Being a martial artist and a huge action movie buff since childhood, this all seems very surreal, and I’m very grateful for this opportunity. By no means do I believe I can replace the legendary Sylvester Stallone; however, I do feel that somehow this is something I’ve been preparing for since childhood.”
Talking about the remake, Anand told a daily, “Rambo is one of the most iconic action blockbuster films from my generation. I grew up looking up to heroes such as Stallone, and in a time where the Indian industry is lacking action characters of Rambo’s caliber, this is a perfect time to introduce Tiger in this role.”
The movie will be co-produced by M! Capital Ventures, Original Entertainment, Impact Films and Siddharth Anand Pictures, with a team of producers that includes Daljit DJ Parmar, Samir Gupta, Hunt Lowry, Siddharth Anand, Saurabh Gupta, and Gulzar Inder Chahal.
Filming is set to begin in February of next year, with an expected late 2018 release.
