Television actor Kavi Kumar Azad who plays the role of Dr Hansraj Hathi in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’ has been passes away.
The sudden demise of the actor has left the TV industry and fans in a state of shock. breathed his last on Monday after suffering a cardiac arrest. The shoot of the show at Film City has been cancelled after the team learnt of this shocking news.
Meanwhile, the actor’s last rites will take place today in Mumbai. The cremation will take place today in afternoon at the Mira Road (East) Crematorium.
After his sudden death, Producer Asit Modi said, “We are very sad to inform the loss of our senior actor Kavi Kumar Azad. He was playing the character of Dr Hathi in ‘Taarak Mehta…’. We lost him to a massive cardiac arrest today morning,”
“He was an amazing actor and a very positive person. He truly Loved the show and always came for the shoot even if he was not feeling well. He called today morning that he is not well and will not be able to come for shoot. And later we got the news that he passed away. We are all too numb to say anything,” he added.
The shoot of the show at Film City has been cancelled after the team learnt of this shocking news.
Kavi was playing the role of Dr Haathi on the show for 8 years. Apart from that, the actor has also appeared in movies like Mela, Fun2sh, Jodha Akbar, and Kyon Ki.
The actor was unwell for three days and slipped into a coma last night. He breathed his last an hour ago. He was admitted in Wokhardt Hospital at Mira Road.
