Former Miss India Ushoshi Sengupta was harassed by unidentified by a group men while travelling back from a hotel after work late at night in Kolkata on Monday.
The actor-model, in a Facebook post, shared her horror encounter with a group of boys on the streets of the . A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed and seven persons have been arrested.
Ms Sengupta, 30, said she was returning home from a five-star hotel with a colleague when their Uber cab was hit by a few men on motorcycles near Elgin in central Kolkata. She said the group stopped their Uber cab, dragged the driver out and assaulted him. The incident happened around 11:40 pm.

The actor-model went to the Maidan Police station, but the officer asked her to go to Bhawanipore Police station. Sengupta broke down, and pleaded with the officers and they obliged. The boys, however, pushed the cops aside when they came to the spot and ran away.
Later, the boys returned to harass them when they were about to reach her colleague’s residence. The group stopped their car, attacked the car with stones and smashed the front glass. They also dragged Sengupta out and even tried to break her phone to delete the video. The duo, in complete shock, managed to alert the locals of the area and their family eventually.

“Those arrested seem to be locals who have been violating traffic rules for quite some time. We are hopeful of nabbing the others from the CCTV footage of the surrounding areas.”a senior police officer was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
Ushoshi Sengupta won the Miss India pageant in 2010 and went on to represent the country at Miss Universe 2010. She is also a TEDx speaker and the founder of a weekend festival called Play Fest.
