‘Judwaa 2’ starring Varun Dhawan in the lead along with Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu, had a wonderful opening at the box-office. The film collected Rs 15.50 crore on the day of its release and is the biggest opening of the year after ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’, ‘Tubelight’ and ‘Raees’, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com.

The romantic comedy directed by David Dhawan released on the final day of Navratri, ahead of the long Dussehra weekend to be extended till Gandhi Jayanti on Monday.

The film is the sequel of Salman Khan’s original 1997 flick ‘Judwaa’ which had Karisma Kapoor and Rambha as the female leads. Varun plays a double role for the first time in his career and has portrayed two distinct personalities of Raja and Prem who do share a stark similarity.

‘Judwaa 2’ got into a jinx when CBFC asked the makers to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Alia Bhatt for using her name in the movie.

Going by the latest conversation on Twitter between Alia and Varun, it seems the makers did get a ‘NOC’ from her and her ‘Badrinath ki Dulhania’ co-star did express his gratitude to her on Twitter.

Alia, who was all praises for the movie, tweeted to Varun saying, “#Judwaa2 is everything you imagine it to be and MORE!!! Fun, entertaining, adorable and aptly nostalgic!!@Varun_dvn you are sooooo good!”


To this, Varun replied, “Thank u A and thank u for giving me the noc.”

Recently, the ‘Dishoom’ star took to Twitter and shared the amazing journey of ‘Judwaa 2’ and went on to thank Salman as well who has a cameo in the movie.

Helmed by David Dhawan, ‘Judwaa 2’ also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu in pivotal roles.
