‘Veere Di Wedding’ banned in Pakistan over vulgar dialogues!

Kareena Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor starrer ‘Veere Di Wedding’ is all set to release in cinemas. However, before getting release, the film has been stuck in controversies.

If reports are to be believed, the film has been banned in Pakistan because of “vulgar dialogues and obscene scenes.”

Danyal Gilani, Chairman, Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC), told IANS via social media: “Members of the CBFC unanimously decided to not allow the film for public exhibition in the cinemas as its content flouts the Censorship of Film Code 1980.”

The movie was screened for the CBFC in Pakistan on Tuesday night. According to trade sources, the movie was deemed unfit for exhibition due to “vulgar dialogues and obscene scenes”. The Distribution Club also issued withdrawals of their application for the certification after witnessing the criticism from members of the board, reported The Express Tribune.

The film revolves around the life of four friends Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania. They all have some sort of problems in life. While Kareena is reluctant to get married in an ostentatious manner with Sumeet Vyas. The film focuses on the struggle a woman faces while adjusting to the new lifestyle leaving aside her carefree life.

Produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, Veere Di Wedding will hit the screens on June 1, 2018.
