Virat Kohli is one of the most popular figures in India. Today, he was accompanied by another popular guy Aamir Khan. Yes, Aamir and Virat interviewed each other and spilled some secrets.
The Indian captain was involved in a candid chat with the Bollywood star and brushed upon other aspects of his life as well, according to journalist Sameer Allana’s series of tweets last night. The show is yet to be televised.
There were a lot of other things that both of them talked about ranging from their professional careers to their partners.
However, there were a lot of revelations at the event. Virat was specifically asked about his nickname “Cheeku”. He finally revealed the story behind it.

The Indian captain revealed about his nickname ‘Cheeku’ and the fans have been craving for it for a long time. The story goes way back to the teenage days of the Indian player. He said that it was his under-17 days when he had got this weird haircut which made his ears look big. So everyone started calling him Cheeku rabbit. Then a few years later, the then captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni started using the same nickname. MS Dhoni being behind the stumps did not help Virat and his nickname was revealed when the keeper’s conversations were recorded on the stump microphone.
“During my u17 days, I had a haircut due to which my ears looked big, so everyone called me Cheeku rabbit, Eventually MSD started & stump mic did its job,” the Indian skipper revealed.
The show will be aired on the TV somewhere close to Diwali as it was a promotional event talk for Aamir’s upcoming movie. After the show, Aamir gifted Virat the first take clapper of his movie Dangal and the cricketer in return gave the Bollywood star his Indian jersey.
Sameer Allana, journalist, took to Twitter as he described what Kohli said on the show.
During the same show, Kohli also opened up about his relationship with Aamir’s colleague Anushka Sharma, saying that she has helped him improve as a person in the last 3-4 years.
The Indian team, and Kohli, are now gearing up for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Australia after a 4-1 victory in the ODI series. The first T20 will be played on 7th October in Ranchi.
