Vivek Oberoi, who plays the titular role of Modi in the film appreciated the Supreme Court’s stance and tweeted “With all your blessings, support and love, today we have won in the Honourable Supreme Court. A humble thank you to all of you and to the Indian judiciary for upholding our faith in democracy.”

But during an interview with Zoom TV, the versatile actor lashed out at the Bollywood industry for not raising their voices for the films that face troubles before their release.

He said, “I feel we are not a united industry. I feel when a Padmaavat gets stuck and a legend like Sanjay Bhansali is mistreated and misbehaved with, we should all unite together. I feel if My Name Is Khan gets stuck, we should come together to make sure it doesn’t get stuck. It’s easy to post selfies with Prime Minister and stuff like that. As an industry, we need to stand together.”

He further added, “Around 600 artistes right now are saying that BJP shouldn’t come back, let’s all get together. I respect that, they have all rights to do that. But I also expect from these people, people like Anurag Kashyap, who, during the Udta Punjab’s release, which was during the Punjab elections, was fighting for his right to release it and got it released. And I am happy, that is the sign of democracy. But, all these people who are otherwise so vocal on everything, nobody came out in support of our film. This is happening to our film and they trying to ban our film. Not one word, not one tweet. That, to me, is not fair. That is not being honest to their own principle. That is a double standard.”
