Singer-composer Wajid Khan of music director duo Sajid-Wajid, died in the wee hours of Monday, June 1 due to coronavirus. The 42-year-old singer was hospitalised recently at Surana Hospital, Chembur where his condition deteriorated, he had underlying kidney issues.
Wajid’s death has left the entire nation in shock. Many of his industry friends have expressed their sadness and also extended their heartfelt condolences to the grieving family through social media.
Now, Wajid’s family pens a heartfelt note and thanks doctors and hospital staff who served him.

Thanking the team of doctors who stood by Wajid in his difficult journey, Sajid and family wrote in a statement, “Wajid passed away at the age of 47 due to a cardiac arrest on June 1 at the 00:30 am in Surana Sethi”s hospital here. Wajid had a successful kidney transplant last year and was undergoing treatment for throat infection in the hospital. Dr Prince Surana was like a family and cared for Wajid like a brother with his team of doctors. The entire hospital staff who had been treating Wajid and taking care of him beyond the call of duty and had left no stone unturned for his treatment”.

Sajid-Wajid has been Salman Khan’s favorite music composer and was given a break by the Bollywood superstar in his film Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya in 1998. Sajid-Wajid has recently composed Salman Khan’s lockdown songs Bhai Bhai and Pyaar Karona.
