The much awaited trailer of Anushka Sharma’s latest production venture Phillauri is finally out.
Shot extensively in Punjab, the film features Diljit Dosanjh, Suraj Sharma, Mehreen Pirzada and Anushka in key roles. Co-produced by Fox Star Studios and Clean Slate Films – Anushka’s production banner with brother Karnesh Sharma “Phillauri” is a romantic-horror set in Phillaur.

Set in two different eras, the story is of Shashi (played by Anushka Sharma) a ghost who is in search of her lover (Diljit Dosanjh). The film also features Life Of Pi star Suraj Sharma who plays a ‘Manglik‘ boy who is forced to first get married to a tree on which Shashi now resides.
The trailer starts on a good note but later goes into the cliched territory of those old school comic horrors, where a ghost returns to the world of humans for an unfulfilled desire. The trailer has a few funny moments in the initial half but as mentioned above goes into the cliched, done to death territory i.e in order to get rid of the ghost you have to help it fulfill its last wish.
The film “Phillauri” releases on 24 March.
