‘Shubh Mangal Savdhan’ also marks the directorial debut of South actor-director RS Prasanna. The film is said to be quirky rom-com and here’s a glimpse of the adorable chemistry that Ayushmann and Bhumi will share in the film.

“Shubh Mangal Savdhan” will feature Ayushmann and Bhumi as a married couple who have to come to terms with the former’s erectile dysfunction.

Ayushmann took to his Twitter and shares the teaser of the film. He caption it as मैं aur मेरी Sugandha aa rahe hai aapke जीवन में karne #ShubhMangalSaavdhan! Trailer-1st Aug  @psbhumi @ErosNow @aanandlrai @krishikalulla

“Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” is the Hindi remake of Tamil film “Kalyana Samayal Sadham”.

Producer Aanand L Rai says, “Shubh Mangal Savdhan is a funny and layered story. These are the kind of stories I’ve identified with, right from the time I made Tanu Weds Manu. It is a simple narrative with an interesting bend and the reason I cast Ayushmann and Bhumi is that they fit the bill perfectly for this part. They are the sort of actors I could be friends with even if they didn’t belong to the fraternity. They are simple and humble.”

When Ayushmann was asked about this film, he replied “Let’s not call it a remake. It is the rebirth of the same story but the milieu and humour is different. It’s amended to suit Bollywood. Moreover, I am glad to feature alongside Bhumi. My wife saw one of our pictures from a photoshoot and said, ‘It looks like you are hugging me and smiling.’ We are buddies and our chemistry is effortless.”

Even Bhumi is excited about working on this film with Ayushmann as she spoke to Mid-Day, “There is no fun in doing a run-of-the-mill love story. If films have the ability to change orthodox mindsets, they why not encourage them. This is wacky. We play a couple who are deeply in love but there is a twist in the tale. Sex is still a taboo here but it’s changing. After all, this is the land of Kamasutra.”

Produced by Aanand L Rai, the film is set to hit the screens on September 1.
