Actresses Taapsee Pannu and Swara Bhaskar are known to star in films that are women-centric, as well as be outspoken when it comes to gender-related issues.
On International Women’s Day 2017, both the actresses want to shift the focus from what others should do to celebrate women to what women need to do to stand up for themselves.
In their latest video titled ‘How much cleavage is good cleavage’, which was released on 6 March, 2017, they talk about slut-shaming, body positivity, workplace harassment and eve-teasing.
In a video posted by BookMyStyle on YouTube, the two women are seen giving out a powerful message to females – ‘We are women, we are born with it, and if you have it, flaunt it. It’s your body and it’s your right to celebrate your body’.
At first, it seems like a the two actors are giving out lessons on styling, teaching women ‘how much cleavage is good cleavage’. But towards the end, the underlying message is revealed. And we must say that the empowering message that hides underneath the sarcasm is applaudable.
