2. Gold
Gold is to be helmed by “Talaash” director Reema Kagti and produced by Excel Entertainment. The film Gold is a sports film set in 1948 and tells the story of hockey player Balbir Singh, who was a part of the Indian Hockey Team in 1948. Singh then went on to become the vice-captain in 1952 and became the Captain of the team in 1956. T he film will follow his rise as a sports hero in India and how Balbir Singh was the heart of the gold campaign but wasn’t given enough credit for his phenomenal role in the victory during the Olympics.

3. Mariyappan
Directed by Aishwarya Rajnikanth Dhanush, this Tamil film is a sports biopic based on the story of Mariyappan Thangavelu, an Indian Paralympic high jumper who won a Gold medal in the T-42 category at the 2016, Summer Paralympic games held in Rio de Janeiro.
