Sugandha Mishra made a mockery of Lata Mangeshkar

Comedienne-singer Sugandha Mishra found herself surrounded by controversy when she paid Lata Mangeshkar a tribute of sorts by mimicking the legendary singer at a Mirchi Music Awards show. The act was labeled as an insult to Lata Mangeshkar.

Alka Yagnik and Lalit Pandit who were present their looked disturbed and shocked. When contacted, Alka said,  “I didn’t like it. It was not in good taste. And it went on and on. This is what the music industry has come to, disrespecting their very own Bharat Ratna. Kam se kam, Lataji ko toh baksh dena tha. Shame on them.”

Adds composer Lalit Pandit,  I didn’t expect this and I frankly feel it was overdone. But when it was on, it didn’t look as objectionable as it did when it was telecast. Nothing about Lata Didi should be used for laughter.”

Tanmay Bhat controvercy

AIB’s comedian Tanmay Bhat landed himself in trouble yet again after creating a controversial video on Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar. The video has the revered singer and the master blaster – both enacted by Mr Bhat using Snapchat’s face-swap feature –  “arguing” about who is the better player, Sachin or Virat Kohli. It was posted with this disclaimer by Mr Bhat: “I make such nonsense on my Snapchat.”

Soon after he posted the video on his Snapchat, each and everyone lashed out at Tanmay for insulting the two legendary of India. Politicians and Bollywood personalities have come out to ridicule the comedian’s ghastly comic act and slam him from forgetting difference between humour and insult.
