Olympics bronze medallist wrestler Sakshi Malik tied the knot with Satyawart Kadian, also a wrestler, in a grand wedding ceremony at Rohtak, Haryana, on Sunday.
Sakshi looks gorgeous in a red embroidered lehenga while Satyawart complemented his bride in an olive green sherwani.
Sakshi, who created history by becoming India’s first female wrestler to win an Olympic medal, got engaged to Satyawart in October last year.
Satyawart, 22, is two years younger to Sakshi and trains at his father’s akhada in Rohtak. Satyawart clinched a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. He also won a bronze at the Asian Championships in the same year.

The wedding ceremony was attended by many, including Sushil Kumar, who had won medals in wrestling during the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympics. Along with Sushil, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and senior India National Lok Dal leader Abhay Singh Chautala, among others who attend the marriage ceremony.
In 2016, Malik became first woman wrestler from India to win an Olympic medal after she pulled off a sensational 8-5 victory over Aisuluu Tynybekova in the play-off bout.
She also became only the fourth Indian grappler to win a medal in the Olympics. Before her Khashaba Dadasaheb Jadhav, two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt had won medals for India.
Congratulations to Sakshi Malik and Satyawart Kadian
