Story of the movie: The story of Bareilly Ki Barfi is about Bitti Mishra aka Kriti Sanon. The Bareilly girl loves break-dance, smokes cigarettes, likes to watch English movies and is a free bird. Even though Bitti Mishra meets many suitors for her marriage, she lands up getting rejected by everyone. That’s why her marriage becomes the prime concern of her parents (Seema Pahwa and Pankaj Tripathi). Sad Bitti wants to run away from her house so that her parents don’t have to suffer for her. While sitting at the railway station, she buys this book, titled Bareilly Ki barfi. It describes a character who is exactly like Bitti.

The girl desires to meet the author (Rajkumar Rao) as she thinks he knows her well and he is her Raj from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. When the book’s printer Chirag Dubey (Ayushmann Khurrana) gets to know about Bitti Mishra’s love for the book’s author. He fabricates a story involving Pritam Vidrohi (Rajkummar Rao), whose name and photograph features as the book’s author. How Chirag (Ayushmann) deals with the situation by forcing the innocent Pritam to help him is the crux of the story.

Star Performance: Ayushmann Khurrana has delivered a brilliant performance, his comic timing is impeccable. While, Kriti Sanon has done justice to her role. Bitti’s parents, played by Pankaj Tripathi and Seema Pahwa, are the highlights of the movie. Rajkummar Rao have also done justice to his role.

Music Direction: There are a couple of songs which makes for good listening. These songs include ‘Sweety Tera Drama’, and the soothing ‘Nazm Nazm’. The other songs are just about average and do no good to either the film or its narrative.

Direction: The film’s direction is good. Ashwiny has shown the story of the small town in the best possible way. The dialogues are catchy. The movie has good production values and background and picturisation are the attractions on the technical front. The film’s weak point is that, the story of the film is predictable. The viewer can easily understand what is going to happen in the next scene. It could be written even more better.

Watch Or Not: If you like a  light-hearted comedy movies, than you can watch it once.
