Remo Fernandes, who is known for his songs like Hamma hamma, Jalwa among others was charged under the Goa Children’s Act after the 17-year-old girl alleged that she was verbally abused by him at the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where she was admitted after being hit by a car driven by his son.

The victim’s complaint had stated that after she was admitted to the Goa Medical College Hospital at Bambolim near here, Mr. Fernandes visied her at the hospital and after an argument, he verbally abused her.

Mr. Remo’s lawyer Rajeev Gomes said Mr. Fernandes had been acquitted of the charges framed under Section 8 r/w 2 (m) of the Goa Children’s Act.

“The Children’s Court of Goa has today found my client Remo Fernandes not guilty and honourably acquitted him of all charges levelled against him. Justice delivered,” Gomes said, after the trial court delivered its verdict earlier on Thursday.
