Bharti Singh recently entered ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ and thoroughly entertained us with her Babli Mausi and Lalli act. But the person who couldn’t believe that ‘this’ was really happening was actor-comedian Krushna Abhishek.
Bharti and Krushna have previously collaborated on shows like ‘Comedy Nights Bachao’ and ‘Comedy Circus’. However, this time, Bharti has decided to opt for ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’.
“It has been four years since Kapil’s show started, and Bharti and I had vowed never to appear on it. It was an unwritten pact between us. Firstly, because it was named after him and secondly because I am not a small-time comedian, who would appear on someone’s show for a few minutes. They couldn’t have afforded me as I charge a bomb,” Krushna told The TOI.
Krushna, at first, did not take the buzz about Bharti joining hands with Kapil, but when he learned that she actually has, he could not digest the fact. He said, “I laughed it off, as I was confident that she wouldn’t join his team. However, I later realised that it was true. How could Bharti join him?”

Now, since former TKSS members have reunited with Krushna for his upcoming show The Drama Company, he thinks the balance has been restored; he does not hold anything against Bharti either. Krushna said, if Bharti wants to explore her career, it’s totally her call.
Krushna, in fact still good friends with the laughter queen. He explained, “I am in touch with her. In fact, I was the first one to rush to her side when she was hospitalised recently. When I asked her about her decision, she said, ‘Krushna, mujhe kaam karna hai’ (Krushna, I want to work). On a positive note, there is a balance now between the two shows. Personally, I don’t want Kapil’s show to end. I want both to work so that there will be healthy competition.”
Krushna’s show “The Drama Company” also stars Bollywood veteran Mithun Chakraborty, Ali Asgar, Sudesh Lehri, Sanket Bhosle and Sugandha Mishra.
“The Drama Company” goes on air on July 16.
