Abhay Deol gets awarded ‘Valerian Of Racism’ for raising his voice against fairness cream ads

Few months ago, Abhay Deol raised his voice against fairness cream advertisements, featuring celebrities and pointed out how racism and disdain for dark skin was getting normalised in India.

He targeted a few celebs Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham, Shahid Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor for featuring in campaigns that promote and sell fairness creams and other such products.

Abhay’s fight against the racism has not only won him praises in the nation.

Now, the actor has got recognition for his fight against racism and has been awarded ‘Valerian of Racism’ by the makers of Valerian and The City of Thousand Planets.

They will be picking up Indian celebrities who are saving the country from various social menaces.
