The central theme of this gritty content revolves around bhouri a woman who has always been at the mercy of feeble men all her life and her own defiance for her dignity was seen as an obstinacy by society that brought punishment to her humble life.
The canvas captures the desperate poverty that surrounds a large part of rural india and exposes the life of a daily wageworker and a class dominated society governed by haughty and cruel men whose pastime is to trap and exploit women. Pathos of the central character comes through beautifully without having her use too many dialogues.
