The Censor Board for Film Certification Chief Pahlaj Nihalani did what he does best. After having an issue with the “lady-oriented” film Lipstick Under My Burkha, objecting to the word “intercourse” in Jab Harry Met Sejal trailer, now his latest victim is Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s upcoming film Babumoshai Bandookbaaz.

The certification body has apparently suggested 48 cuts in the film inorder for it to be certified and screened. And as per reports, they not only asked the makers of the film to make the 48 cuts, but even humiliated the film’s producer for their choice of topic, and also for the choice of clothing.

When asked about the number of cuts that have been ordered in Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, Nihalani told India Today Television, “We are just doing our job.”

Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, which stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bidita Bag in the lead roles and is directed by Kushan Nandy, has been embroiled in controversies for quite some time now. First, Chitrangda Singh walked out of the film saying that she was uncomfortable with the numerous explicit scenes in the film. After that, the filmmakers roped in Bengali actress Bidita Bag.

The movie is an offbeat film that essays the journey of a contract killer. The action thriller film directed by Kushan Nandy features Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bidita Bag, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Roopa Ganguly, Tota Roy Chowdhury and Biswajit Chakraborty.

The film is slated to release on August 25, 2017.
